Washington (THE PLEBIAN): On Tuesday Manafort’s lawyers opted to skip calling witnesses for the defense sending the trial to closing arguments. “In this case the defense portion of the trial is ceremonial,” one of Manafort’s lawyers said. “Lets face it. He’s fucked. You can only launder so much money as a politician and get away with it.”
Federal Prosecutors were disappointed by the development. One of them said to The Plebian, “Aw man, I was looking forward to cross examining their testimony and immediately exposing it for the garbage fire that it is. I guess his lawyers took out the trash for us.”
President Trump tweeted on twitter, “Manafort’s Lawyers didn’t need a defense because there’s nothing to defend.”
