San Francisco CA (the plebian): In a move against false statements on the platform, Twitter has renewed their commitment against tweets spreading misinformation.
“We’ve renewed our commitment to preventing false information from spreading through the platform,“ a representative of twitter said. “regrettably that means that we have to retroactively go through old tweets that might have slipped through the system. One particular account, @realdonaldtrump, spouts a high frequency of falsehoods. All of the Tweets coming from that account are false in some way and under new guidelines all of those tweets have to be labeled as such”
When asked if it was appropriate to censor politicians in this manner that representative responded “ Absolutely, We can’t have someone tweeting out that Democrats are harvesting baby organs to revive Hitler.”
